Middle & Senior School

In Middle and Senior School, students aged 11 to 16 engage in a future-focused academic program that culminates in the internationally recognised New South Wales Higher School Certificate (HSC). This respected qualification opens pathways to top universities in Australia and around the world. Through a balanced approach of 50% internal assessment and 50% external exams, students develop the skills and confidence needed to thrive at university and beyond.

Teaching & Learning

Middle & Senior School Curriculum

The Middle School at AISM offers a supportive and nurturing environment where students are guided through these important years of growth and discovery. As they build confidence, independence and a love of learning, students are well-prepared to take on the challenges of Senior School and the final stages of their school journey.

Year 9 and year 10

Senior School (Aged 14—16)

Continuing a strong foundation of core subjects alongside elective courses to prepare for seamless transition into our Pre-University Program. This balanced approach prepares them for greater specialisation and success in their final years of school.

Year 6 to Year 8

Middle School (Aged 11 - 14)

During these years students engage in a diverse range of subjects, building a strong and well-rounded foundation for future success. As they move into Years 9 and 10, they’ll begin to specialise by choosing elective subjects that match their interests.

50/50 Assessment ßÏßϽûÇø

We place equal emphasis on academic achievement, life skills and practical learning. The Higher School Certificate (HSC) is assessed through a balanced approach, 50% school-based assignments and projects and 50% external examinations. This ongoing assessment model, widely recognised by universities, allows us to focus on your child’s individual learning needs.

Outstanding Academic Results

In 2024, our Year 12 students achieved the best Higher School Certificate (HSC) results in AISM’s history, earning recognition in Australia and around the world for their outstanding academic performance. The HSC is equivalent to A-Levels or the IB Diploma.
