Every Step Matters

Tracking Every Child’s Learning Journey

At AISM, we believe assessment is more than just grades. It is about understanding each child’s progress, identifying their strengths and guiding them towards continuous growth. Our approach combines ongoing classroom assessment, regular communication with families and internationally benchmarked tests to provide a clear picture of every student’s learning journey.

Ongoing Assessment

Learning at AISM is a continuous cycle of growth. Teachers use a variety of methods including assignments, research projects, oral presentations, group work and examinations to evaluate progress. Gaps in understanding become clear targets for future learning, ensuring that every child is supported to reach their potential.

Parent, Teacher & Student Conferences

Strong communication between home and school is key to student success. Twice a year, parents, teachers and students meet to review progress, celebrate achievements and set meaningful goals. These conferences encourage students to take ownership of their learning while ensuring parents stay fully informed and engaged.

School Reports

At the end of each of our four semesters, families receive a detailed report that highlights their child’s progress across all subjects. These reports outline key strengths and areas for improvement, providing clear insight into how each student is meeting curriculum outcomes and developing essential skills.

International Schools Assessment

To benchmark student learning internationally, all Year 3 to Year 10 students sit the International Schools Assessment (ISA) test each October. Covering mathematics, reading and writing, this assessment is used diagnostically to identify areas of comparative strength and weakness. The results help teachers refine their approach and ensure students are well prepared for future learning challenges.

Higher School Certificate (HSC) 50/50 Assessment ßÏßϽûÇø

We place equal emphasis on academic achievement, life skills and practical learning. The Higher School Certificate (HSC) is assessed through a balanced approach, 50% school-based assignments and projects and 50% external examinations. This ongoing assessment model, widely recognised by universities, allows us to focus on your child’s individual learning needs.

Wider Learning

At AISM, education extends well beyond academics. Our extensive co-curricular and enrichment programmes provide students with opportunities to develop creativity, self-assurance and strength of character.
